On May 13, 2024, a training session was held on “AML Capacity building session for SECP regulated persons in collaboration with FMU” facilitated by Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in collaboration with Financing Monitory Unit (FMU) with the aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of FMU’s operations and the pivotal role they play in safeguarding the integrity of our financial system along with understanding of Beneficial Ownership (BO) Ecosystem.
The NBFI & Modaraba Association of Pakistan was leading for requisite arrangements and liaison with SECP team in collaboration with Mutual Funds Association of Pakistan and Insurance Association of Pakistan.
The main theme of the session was to understand the Role of FMU and working of goAML & Beneficial Ownership Regime:
- To create awareness among SECP Regulated Persons relating to understanding of Role of FMU, goAML, filing of STRs/CTRs and sector specific queries;
- Understanding Beneficial ownership ecosystem and growing potential risks of misuse of legal persons

A large numbers of participants through physically and virtually attended the session by the members of NBFI & Modaraba Association of Pakistan, Mutual Funds Association of Pakistan and Insurance Association of Pakistan.
